If USCIS has been sitting on your work permit for months, you have legal options.

A writ of mandamus is a federal lawsuit that compels USCIS to make a decision on your case. It does not ask them to approve it. It requires them to act.

You have a Form I-765 pending with USCIS, it has been pending more than six months, and no decision has been issued. Every I-765 category counts, renewals included.
